I just bought an SKS that is supposed to be a vet bringback. It was from an estate so no paperwork. The only marks are on the left side. It starts with a triangle with doble zero. next is the chinese synbols for the type 56 next to that is an 02 and further down is the serial number 700438. The trigger guard has a 12 stamped on the bottom. It is milled and All numbers match where they are supposed to. It has a spike bayonet and a browning patina. The barrel is 20 inches and in good shape. The stock matches the serial number. NO IMPORT MARKS. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I would appreciate any help on identification of the factory, date of manufacture and the chances it is a bringback.
Regards
David

Can you post a photo of the markings?  Naturally with the Chinese character, it is a Chinese rifle.  However, with this low a serial number, it should have a knife bayonet.  It does sound like the trigger guard does not match.  Also if you can post a photo of the complete rifle, that would help determine if the stock configuration is that of a knife, or spike bayonet rifle.
