sick of the thumb hole stock...time to remodel.. should i have local gunsmith reattach lower tang or go with an ace folder ...do i have to add a new trigger group to comply with the Feds?..other? just wondering....

| this has been debated here many times...i vote to have the lower tang installed. some say use the Ironwood stocks that dont require a lower tang but its been my limited experience that the stocks arent as tight as a lower tang...the SLR95 is one of my very favorite AK's and id tell ya to get compliance parts and turn it back to tradional look/feeel. the ACE folder is nice but just doesnt look right to me on an AK...search the pic files at top of page and you'll see 2 of my 95's converted. money well spent |
I'm usually the odd man out on this, but the thumbhole stock on the SLR-95 is one of the only ones that I actually like the feel of.  I'm sure it'd be different if I only had one or two AKs, but I left my SLR-95MB as-is and it's still among my favorite AKs... |
