Hi Guys, I asked this before awhile back but did not fully understand the answer. I know that you cannot build a pistol grip AK that has the thumbhole stock as its post 89. What I do not know or understand is how to count the number of parts in a rifle, in my case a SLR 95MB. If I order the following parts will I be meeting the ATF/Gov requirments? I want to add a pistol grip, shoulder stock, upper & lower forearm & 3 internal parts (Disconector, trigger & hammer) all of these I can get from K-Var or FSE with these parts would it be a legal build at that point? Please remember it has a factory installed muzzle brake held on by pins, so is that an extra part? do I need to add one more US made part? Thx for the help guys, these laws are a real pain in the ass for an honest man to understand. |

As long as those 6 parts you add are U.S. parts, you will be legal. You actually only need 5. 4 w/o a muzzle brake. Be advised though, that your rifle only has 1 rear tang that the stock attaches to. You may need to have a second tang installed. K-Var sells the tang, AFAIK. Hope this helps. |
