What would you do?  And "GET BOTH" isn't an option for mehatever
On one hand I like the accuracy and hefty feel of the SLR and I know they are highly used by military all over the world.  But I like the underfolder design of the Vector and the lighter weight, afterall I don't need wicked accuracy past 100 yards for a battle rifle.

So what would you do if you had to choose?

If you're talking about a Commonwealth Pattern L1A1 as the SLR, and I had the choice between a quality built FAL style rifle and a quality built AK, and I could only get one.....................

Well, like my licesnse plate says..........

.308 4 ME

If your talking about the Arsenal Inc. SLR-101 milled receiver AK vs. the Vector, I'd still probably go with the SLR.

slr is 2x the gun
ill prolly get flamed for saying so but the uf is really a poor design
you shoot it like a rifle and the uf trys to rip the side of your face off
you shoot it folded and the folder digs into your side not to mention you can't have a side scope mount or use the safe when gun is folded but hay it looks koo right

Thanks for the opinions.  And yes I'm talking about the SLR101, most likely a SAM-7.

I want a battle rifle and I plan to put an ultimak+Aimpoint on whatever I decide.

Where are you planning to do battle?

Now that the choices are clarified, get the SA-M7.

Good question.  I'm thinking mostly CQB, although I like the accuracty aspect of the SA-M7.

I love my Vector Underfolder, because its an icon and always turns heads. Sure, the stock sucks, but I have ARs for serious shooting. My AK is strictly a fun gun.

I personally wont get the Vector till they fix the OOW receiver that they use on it. Seeing the gap when the slector is up is aggrivating.

I'm getting the feeling that the underfolder is more of a collectors item and a fun toy.  The SA-M7 seems like what I want.

I have to say that by buying the SAM-7 you will only get greater quality in finish not accuracy.
Its your choice ;)...

PS: Don't get the underfolder... go with the SLR-101 or SAM-7!

Specify SAM7S, the S at the end is for the siderail optics mount. Yes it's $50 that could go towards the ult/aim combo, but you will have the option of mounting other optics over the receiver in the future. And you just might decide that them thar commie optics are a bargain...

If you are not carrying it all day, the extra mass is nice to smooth out the shots.

it is a good question but i dont think you answered it correctly, WHERE are you going to battle?? usa, iraq, africa, backyard, or are you playing airsoft games with real guns??

Well airsoft games is the first priority.  But when or if I ever needed to kill real zombies with it, chances are 99% that it would be in the USA.

Yes, I would get the side rail if I were you. You can mount the best optics made for an AK!
