I've had an early high-cap SSR85-C from ISD for awhile, and made the mistake of unpinning and removing the slant brake only to find the threads had been turned off of the barrel. I was wondering if I could install an AK74-style front sight tower with the 24mm thread attachment in order to install a brake.

If this is possible, is there any particular type of front sight assy I should be looking for, and does anyone have a source for used/surplus?

Thanks

As an FYI, others in your situation with the same rifle have successfully threaded to 1/2-28.  Another option to consider.

I appreciate the tip, it would be cheaper to do. I was concerned that there wasn't much material left to work with but I think I'm going to give it a try.

Thanks
