Search function is your friend...One members rifle. Some problems with his rifle Global has a forum at gunsnet. Some people have had issues with new rifles having rust, some functioning issues. |
Here's my new SSR-85C-2 I got from Ordnance Outsellers (with my AR-15 middie on the left): It has an UltiMak M2-B optics rail and EOTech holosight. Had it out to the range last weekend to zero the irons; it's a sweet shooter. The EO gets zero'd this weekend. There was no rust on it. It functioned flawlessly last weekend. |

I just bought an SSR 85 C 2P a month ago. After reading posts on here I went through the rifle (before purchase) looking for problem areas. Only one was found - rust was on the inside of the gas port/block, almost like corrosive rounds were fired and never cleaned. Atlantic was told about the problem? I cleaned it out w/ fine steel wool and CLP. 100 rounds were fired today w/ 3 synthetic Polish? mags (smooth sided) and 1 steel Warsaw Pact (steel) mag and 1-10 rd Kvar synthetic. It was 95F outside and function was 100%. Hot quick, but that's a given. 100 yards was 5 round groups in 5 inches. My Finnish M39 is a lot more accurate, but it's no AK. I put 150 rounds through it recently, when it was much cooler outside. Function was also 100% w/ 3 other WP-style mags. 250 rounds is no endurance test, but so far no problems. Adjusted the front sight and all mags I have tried have worked, for the price I am happy. |
