| I'm new to the AK world and don't know what's available out there. I've seen some mounted on top of the rail cover but was warned to stay away from those. I'm not sure if the stock will clear the side rail mounts. |

you are pretty much...sol. there is insufficient clearance for the com-bloc optic rail and the action cover mounted mounts are so close to worthless as to be a waste of time and money imo. at one time, i believe it was kengs that imported a weird, removable (clamped onto the receiver with a series of screws) optic mount. they marketed these to sell with the early polytech ak's. one of these MIGHT function with an underfolder. finding one should prove to be a challenge. you could contact/email keng's www.polytechparts.com/main.html and inquire if they have memory of this mount and if it will work on an underfolder. |
