I don't have a side rail, so what about top cover scope mounts?? Any input would be great thanks....

How does that thing mount to the gun?

One bolt goes thru the pin portion of the rear sight leaf base, and the side bolts hope to keep it from squirming away.

Most instead choose an Ultimak or TDI gas tube/upper handguard rail instead.

Well, I bought an Ultimak. Is it supposed to fit that loose or is it short. It's not gonna move, I got it clamped good but seems like alot of space at the trunion and gas block. Will it expand that much??

It needs some room just to get on/off. As long as it does nto move when you throw the lever down, you're fine.

Good choice.  I am a big fan of the Ultimak.  Watch the heat though.

It will move until the straps are screwed tight. I can almost wiggle it out with the strap screws out and the lever down in the locked position. Whats funny is the stock Bulgy tube is a pain to get to seat all the way down so you can lock the latch.
