I read somewhere a guy had his sights purposefully set to hit 2" high at 100yds. Do you guys think this is a bad idea?

Depends on his sight picture too. If his eyes work best with a bit of hold under instead of possible overlap...
Guys chasing tight groups set theirs off a bit so the target does not change at all as holes form nearby.
