Anybody know how to remove the slant break from a romy without screwing it up? I know it's left handed threads but i don't want to break or gouge the crap out of anything in the process. TIA, Dave |

On mine, it's very simple. Right above the break you will see a little pin sticking out and holding the break steady. Just push that down with a screwdriver, then twist the break off. If you are having trouble getting it to start twisting, I wrapped electrical tape over the teeth of some pliers and budged it with that, no scratches, no gouging. Hope I was of some help. |
| well I deffinatly can't do it by hand and it won't budge with a pair of vise grips with a towel to protect the break. hinking.gif |
| To loosen up stuck metal surfaces, tap, and then soak overnight in breakfree or similar penetrating compound. Heating the brake while keeping the barrell cool with an icepack, wouldn't be a bad idea either, just don't overdo it on heating. Keep tapping and soaking in breakfree, and it'll eventually give in. |
