[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Slant mozzle brake install problem

I have a Maadi ARM that had a weilded on muzzle nut. I took that off today to install a US made slant break, it is threaded under the nut. The sping loaded pin that retained the break is not functional. I can seen the pin in the FSB but it does not pop out once the nut came off. What are my options with this issue?

Take the forward crosspin out and remove the detent pin and see if it has the spring behind it and if the assembly is correct. If not then replace it.

I tried using a punch and it did not budge. When I have time i'll see about drilling it.
