Anybody remember Keith Baranski - AKA "Chief Thunder"?? I remember all those guys over there at Goons Net were actually going to donate money for his legal fees because the poor guy was setup and framed by the Feds.  Any of his worshippers over here? Anyone visit him lately? Maybe bring him a little cake with a file in it? |

Chief Thunder is/was a loud,foul mouthed, arrogant, dumbass. Whith that being said I personally like the guy. Like Tech Nine said if you ever met him you would like him (Heavy_Metal did warn me to keep my kid away from him, very foul mouth) I met him at Bulletfest III when he was selling mags by the trunk load from his truck. He was very nice about letting people shoot his sweeeeet weapons. His down fall was getting mess up with 2 business people that screwed him over. 1. Tim (iirc) at Progressive Arms, and 2. That Cameradi (sic) that screwed him over with the forged Police documents. Had Keith been a bit smarter, and a little less arrogant he would be a rich free man today! He never screwed me, and my dealings with him were all good. I never understood though, while during his stay on ak47.net, he openly bragged about beating a cop within an inch of his life, and talked in general about killing LEO's. I know there were also some people who paid for goods that never received them. Other than that, I'm sure he is a great guy. Why was he sentenced to prison anyway? |
That had to be the drunk side of Keith talking....he was a big talker, and right before he went to the big house, he drank.....a lot! The people who paid and never received anything probably had their stuff confiscated by the Feds, I always got everything I ordered....and some attitude as well  Keith went to jail, because he was a shmuck! ...loooong story, but here is the Reader's Digest version. He has some connection in Bulgaria that he was able to get guns and mags. Before he came on the scene waffle mags were $50 a pop! he had a friend with a shop (Progressive Arms) move them at like $15. The shop owners wife wanted him to go back in the CoastGuard, so he leaves Keith holding the bag. Keith never wanted to sell, he just wanted to import, to churn and burn. Then he started bringing in weapons, demiling them and selling the kits. Krink kits were like $700...he sold them for $199! He got his C3, to sell the cheap Bulgarian AKs(krinks) to small rural Sheriffs (this is where things get fuzzy). I have heard that he did indeed sell some, and some are still out on patrol. He ended up get mixed up with this Camerati(sic) fellow who was a felon, who forged some LEO Letters (allegedly)....what ever.... the get busted by the ATF. The other guy plea bargins out, and walks. Keith decides he has the biggest set of balls on the planet, and takes them on. I admire his chutzpah, but they have muuuuuch deeper pockets (ours). Anyway they say ok give us your guns, and its all over, he fights.....and loses. Club Fed |

Towards the end, Chief was willing to barter with what mags he had left. I had placed an order for some colored waffles that failed to materialized. Due to his legal problems, he gave me 5.56 and 7.62x39 black waffles in kind. Like others have said, a fouled mouth dickhead sometimes but if you caught him sober, one of the nicest guys to have known. People never knew how much K-VAR was gouging people before Chief Thunder came along. I remember paying almost $80 from K-VAR when the first 5.56 waffles came in. Hootbro |

The Cheif Thunder, The reason he got in trouble is his partener filed for a FFL using is brothers name because his partners real name was unuseable because of a previous criminal chage. They were also bribed police depts's with free full auto guns if they would file for police demo FA weapons. |
