I bought  3000 rounds of 7.62x39 HP from an estate for a good price. It's the older "White Box" stuff head stamped TCW. Was that Tula Cartridge Works, predecessor to the Wolf line?

Yep tula cartridge works aka TCW

Its wolf before it was wolf, and all that TCW stuff is lacquer also not that new polymer coated wolf crap that rusts.

Better to set back shtf ammo imho then new polyformance. The old stuff you could set in a glass of water for a week and then fire it.

How much did you pay for the 3,000 rounds?
We want to know.

Curious, any indication that this is corrosive?

What's that, 300rnds? I would, but don't know how I'd get it to you.

I bought 500rds of TCW 223 from my cousin a year ago for $50. The only issue I've had with it is the primers seem to be soft/thin. My XCR would cut slugs-little disks- out of it and then would jam up. I sent my bolt in to have it "cured" by Robinson and it still does it. Only the TCW does this and all other ammo including wolf is fine in my XCR. I shot some of it thru an AR and the fireing pin would leave a small hole in every round.

My 106fr eats it just fine though. Go figure.

That's a great deal on the ammo. The problems I'm having may only be with the particular lot I got.

As far as ammo goes, that is not to old.

I'd save the old TCW over the newer wolf stuff that rusts....

TCW predates Wolf by like...oh...a century or more...
