| A roll pin is not the proper means of securing an AK gas piston to the bolt carrier. Originally, that pin was a solid steel pin and was supposed to be peened-over on both ends to prevent it from "walking" as yours is doing. Your best bet would be to find a mild steel pin that is long enough to protrude slightly out of both sides of the hole through the carrier, and peen the ends of the pin into the chamfered holes in the carrier to secure it. Afterwards, dress the ends of the peened pin so that they are flush with the surface of the bolt carrier. The pin does not need to be a press-fit through the hole, but snug would be good. |
