What are your guys thoughts on these? Does any have any pix with it on their rifle? |

I like lots of Tapco stuff (and use Tapco parts on SKSs and AKs a lot), but I have a black Tapco side folder I bought, installed, hated, and threw in the parts box the next day. You have to compress the stock body downward to get the latch to release for folding, it's uncomfortable to use, and it looks like crap when installed (like it's 2-3 inches too long, or something). Maybe you'd like it? People have different tastes. I bought a $40 (at the time) Romanian side folder from APEX gun parts and never looked at the Tapco folder again.
Oddly enough, I have a Tapco T6 AK stock that came with my WASR that's in the same bin. It was okay, but it felt cheap and rattled too much, and I didn't feel like doing the duct tape on the extension method to get it to not ratte. Tapco makes good stuff, IMO, but I dont care for their AK stocks. The new Timbersmith ones look like they're starting off nicely, and I will probably pick a set up when they get a cleaning kit hole and trapdoor buttplate, an AK-74 lightening cut on the stock, and better swells on the handguards - assuming they ever do. |
