| How to fix ? |
|
http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/slapfix.htm i did this to my yugo M70 underfolder. As far as I can tell, it worked fine. you can do this or drop $40 for a Tapco G2 trigger group or $85 for a Red Star trigger but why would you do that unless you have money to burn. IMO |

What kind of rifle do you have? Is it a WASR? SAR? Maadi? Does it have the Century FCG or a TAPCO already? Some of the WASR's already had the TAPCO FCG group in them and shouldn't have the trigger slap. That's what you have to determine first. Most likely you have a Century group which will have a C marking on it and then you would be able to do the fix which they linked above. Easy to do and most likely cures the problem for free. Or you can get the TAPCO G2 if your rifle doesn't have one. I've always used these before. Don't buy from TAPCO. They used to sell them for about $20.00, now they screw you with the price. Try some of the guys on the Equipment Exchange, check out Copes Distributing especially if they have anything else you need as they have one price shipping, shoot member thedukeryan and see if he can sell you one at a decent price or try DPHarms.com though I think Scott has raised his shipping charge way up. Or you can get an FSE 2 fire control group from RPB. I used one in my latest thumbhole stock conversion. They have both the single hook and double hook plus you can choose different methods of shipping. The FSE fire control group is $30.00 and when I ordered I chose the cheapest method of shipping which came to $5.00. They ended up sending my order Priority Mail and I got the item from GA in 2 days. This is about the best deal going on a simple US fire control group and these guys seem to have decent customer service. In my opinion the RSA is overpriced and over complicated. Not really needed for a cheaper AK. Yes, I do have one in one of my AKs and it was not set up when delivered as it should be, my rifle ended up slam firing after install and I've adjusted it but haven't had time to go out and test it and seeing if it works now. Then you have to bother with putting locktite on the adjustment screws and hope they don't move. |
