Red Star Arms, Tapco? what else is out there?
Anyone have anything to offer regarding these or any other choices out there that I'm not aware of?

Trying to figure out what I want to put in my SGL-21 to get rid of the factory 2-stage, just can't get used to it. Love the factory triggers on my Bylgys and Chi-Com's. Short/no take-up, no creep, clean quick break... What should I be looking for here?

Only 3 aftermarket options I'm aware of are Red Star Arms, Tapco, and Texas Triggers, none of which are a bad choice.

You can file the "bump" on the hammer, it doesn't cost you any money and you now have a single stage trigger.

If you are wondering where to file. Look at the were the the hammer and trigger connect, it stops on a little bump for the two stage affect. Polish to achieve the trigger pull desired.

Jard is also an option

Century also makes trigger assemblies.

I've been thinking of starting there. Figure I don't have much to lose by trying.
If I screw it up then I'll be replacing it anyways.

Thanks for the opinions and input everyone.
Think I'll try polishing the second stage off the original one first, with a Red Star being my back-up.

Has anybody here ever tried "tuning" a Tapco? They are pretty cost effective and it makes me wonder if they would go from "pretty good" to "great" with a little working over? For the price a guy could risk fouling one up trying I think.

Didn't Arsenal start selling triggers that counted for 922r parts?

I refuse to put Tapco triggers in anything I own after voids, breakage, et cetera.

Gardner is the only member I've seen mention them. Does anybody have a link to a review?

I put a Tapco in my Yugo under folder and have very happy with it so far.

I have 11 Arsenals, so putting new triggers in all of them was out of the question.

I used some stones from Midway, Flitz and a Dremel to reduce the two state lip and polish the takeup track.

I LOVE the triggers now.  It's nice having a slight warning before the hammer is released.

Just did my AK015 that came back from Chris Butler.

Stoned the flat then lightly stoned the lip down to about a 5lb CRISP pull.   Finished with some Flitz with the Dremel.
I also polished the back of the trigger and the bottom of the bolt.  The whole gun feels optimized and smooth as butter now.

These triggers are AWESOME, but need some work.  I'd rather do this than blow $80 each for 10 guns.

I like it more than the G2 in my 106FR

I'm going to do the Arsenal trigger on my AK104 and video tape it next week.  Look for the vid....

X2

Just did this to my trigger in my SAR-2, didn't like the "no warning" single stage. Now I can feel a very slight "stop" before an extremly crisp break.

Agreed, think this is what I'm going to go for too.
