What exactly is it and how do i fix it? I know to replace the trigger but is there any other option?

cut the tail off of the rear of the disconnector. the hammer drives the tail if the discon into the trigger...causing the trigger shoe to rotate forward into your finger.

if the slap is still there, reduce the length of your disconnector spring 1/4 turn at a time untill the slap goes away.

 you said your father is a gunsmith, iirc? if so, he can help you fix the trigger slap in about 1/2 hour.

note: go slowly and carefully when shortening the discon spring. a disconnector that fails to reset can be dangerous. double fires and worse, explosions out of battery can occur...resulting in serious injury.
