I think I remember hearing and seeing a guy use toothpicks to hold the rear trunnion in and it actually held.

Is this possible?  Or did I hear and see wrong?

If I recall this test was devised to be the end of the "screw builds will kill you" stuff that was going around back then. It seems that screw builds have fallen out of favor anyway, but at one time there was a huge amount of debate about the safety of them, I think this demonstration settled that.

Tapeo, thanks for posting the pics. Damn, I guess I'm not so worried about the one less-than-perfect rivet head on my first build!
