Has anyone tried any of the Turkish loaded 7.62x39? It is branded under sterling (steel case) and kaiser brand (brass and steel case). wondering if it is corrosive or not. any information on these would be very helpful. Thank you SinisterDouble68 |

This forum doesn't get much traffic anymore. I believe you should be ok with Turkish made ammunition. They have a habit and culture of making non-corrosive ammunition for years starting in the mid 1950's when they made 30-06 ammo for their lend lease M1 Garands. The countries I would worry about are the former Soviet Republics such as Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. They began importing ammo into the U.S. shortly after Russian sanctions took effect and true to form used corrosive primers when loading their ammo. It's just not something that is even considered in the former Soviet Bloc. All ammo is corrosive and they expect it to be. Later batches that were brought in had non-corrosive primers, but I would still be careful and check your firearms for corrosion after shooting because corrosive primers may still slip in on some batches. |

I've got a couple cases of the kaiser ammo. About 3 to 400 rounds into the first case with no issues so far. Edit: I've been shooting it in my Riley krink, with no cleaning at all yet and haven't noticed any signs to indicate the ammo is corrosive |
