| Hey all I have a few romanian kits and I want to make one into an underfolder, but the only Underfolder flats and trunions I can find are the Yugo's... its my understanding that those are wider and I cant use with a romy... any help in locating these?? |

here ya go... You'll have to have the rear trunion though. A standard romanian ak parts kit will only have a fixed stock rear trunion. I imagine, if you dont already have an underfolder assembly then this might be a costly way to build an underfolder. Most underfolder sold seperate from kits still cost about $150 (last i've seen) + Flat + Trunnion (if not included) = BIG MONEY You could save yourself the frustration of piecing it together by just keeping an eye out for a $300-$375 Polish underfolder or Romanian MD63.. thats if you dont want to go the Yugo route. Im staying away from the Yugo's because of the difference in the flats and trunnions. Here are a couple links... MD-63 - A Beautiful Kit Gunthings Polish If you dont have that kinda spare money laying around, sell one or two of your romys. |
| Hate to say it but for $400 I would pay a little more and get a Yugo underfolder. I have built mostly Romanians but after building a Yugo I asked myself why I would have spent so much time on those when you could pay a little more and get much better quality parts. |

gfunk,... this tread is about underfolders, not your basic romanian ak kit. We all know the sad truth that standard Romanian (non-underfolder) kits are now $200ish. However, if you WERE refering to Romanian Underfolders for less than those last two Yugos, then please do share with the community. |
SELL SOME OF MY ROMYS!!!! hock.gif hock.gif hock.gif THATS JUST CRAZY TALK!!! Well beings its gonna cost that, I may as well just wait, and some time in the future if i can, I will just build one out of a yugo or buy a complete underfolder... ill just take the ones I have now and make full stock AK's But I wont sell em... never never never will I sell a gun again... I did that a few years ago and still want em back. Thanks for the info guys |
The Yugo has a "bulged" front trunnion and the flats are thicker gauged steel they will not work with the Romy trunnion. |
