| Is there anyway to tighten up the stops on an underfolder. I picked up a Century and in the unfolded position it has about a quarter inch play in it. |

You can tighten up your folder in the side to side way. Push the button in and move the folder somewhere between fully open and fully closed. Look on the right side of the receiver, and you'll see a nut with 6 holes in it.. typically one hole will have a pin that goes into the center shaft to keep the tightening nut from coming lose. Take out the pin (if there is one) and tighten that nut a little bit.. check your slop, and continue to tighten a little bit at a time until you find the right spot.. then put your pin back in. I don't know how to do the up/down way. |

ALL underfolders have some up-n-down "wiggle" to them. The best UF I have ever handled is my own, and it has barely enough to even feel but it is there. The Yugo I used to own had about 1/4 in "slop" in it, but it never got worse over time. The "slop" is the only thing I truely dislike about the UF. It looks cool. It feels cool. It shoots great and shoulders well (for me), but that damned "slop" always makes me frown. Learn to live with it. I have heard of guys "peening" the holes in the rear trunnion smaller to make up for a too large of a hole, but that needs to be down prior to being built. |
