I'm looking at folding stocks for my VEPR K 7.62x39. I know both Ace and RobArms offer one, and there may be other brands that I'm not aware of. I would prefer the Ace folder, but I have concerns about the ability to shoot with the stock closed. It appears that the Ace stock partially blocks the trigger when closed. The RobArms design seems to give better access to the trigger when folded. I normally wouldn't shoot with the stock closed. But in an emergency situation, it would be nice to have that option. Does anyone have either of these stocks on a VEPR? And if so, how's the trigger accessibility? Also, how do you like the stock(s) overall? Thanks for your input. |

RA makes folding stocks for the VEPRS??? I heard they did.....But I also heard there was a santa clause....Which I also have seen pictures of....But I Have never seen him in real life either...IN fact, i dont think I know of anyone that actually owns a RA folding stock... As for the ace. Its not a stock it is in adaptor. Which lets the vepr take ace stocks. I have an ace sidefolder with an ace cut the dang tang, customized to fit. This was made before ace made the adaptor. The ace stock is great. It is actually 3 pieces. The adaptor, a folder mechanism, and the stock. The cool thing about it is you can flip the folder so it folder either way. However, if it folds to the right, you cant shoot the rifle. due to the stock impeding on the charging handle. and it it folds to the left, you lose the use of your sidemount. I have mine folding to the left, one REALLY bad thing that I and a couple of friends have noticed is this, The "hinge" sticks out on the side that the stock folds to. being a right handed shooter the rifle obviously sets in my right arm and my cheekweld is on the left side of the rifle, Where the hinge sticks out. The first time I shouldered the rifle....You guessed it, Hinge to the lip. As have other people I let hold the rifle. Luckily its a 5.45...so I dont have to worry about it recoiling and hitting me. Typing this has inspired me to design and build an underfolder adaptor for my 5.45 |
What do you mean there's no Santa Claus?? OK... I've never actually seen the RobArms folder in real-life either. I was just going by the info and video on their website. (see link below) I'm an AR guy, so I'm kinda new to the AK scene. www.ak47.com/Vepr_Folding_Stock.htm I really appreciate all the info on the Ace stock. Stuff like that is usually only gained from first hand experience and great cost. You've saved me a few headaches. Thanks again for the info. |
