What are y'all's opinions on the Vector AK's compared to other manufacturers?

I don't own another AK other than Vector, but I do love mine.  I have seen this issue discussed several times on this board and I think the gist of it is, Vectors are a good bang for the buck value.  There are other manufactures that are good as well.  I've read good things about Lancaster and of course Arsenal if you want to pay a little more.  Check out link below for more info

Vectors are probably the best bargain in factory built AK's.  I've had two of them and they were decent rifles.  I'd rank them a notch or two below Arsenal rifles, but they aren't in the same price range.  I also have a Vector Uzi that has performed very well.  I sold the Vector AK's for nearly the same price I paid for them to fund other AK purchases, so they seem to hold their value pretty well.

I'll never get rid of the Uzi, though.  I'll never find a comparable clone in the same price range.  Top notch work.

Are you really asking this question? Did you even TRY to use the search? I mean MY GOD, the Vector is ALWAYS listed at the top of every "what AK should I buy" thread.

Vector ran out of import chrome lined barrels, therefore they are now using unchromed green mountain barrels.  You may still be able to find one of the old ones (chromed) at gunshows if you look hard.

I LOVE my Vector.  It was night and day compared to my old crappy WASR10.  For $499 I was very pleased!

In case you're wondering how to tell if the barrel is chrome lined or not, it's easy.  On a Vector anyway, if there is a number stamped on the left side of the trunion (just in front of receiver were barrel connects) then it is a chrome lined barrel.  No number, no chrome hased
By the way I GOT CHROME

Not quite the way I would have phrased it, but BB does have a point.

At least take a look at the first 10 pages or so for similar threads.  The search function is actually very useful for this but I think you have to be a member.

BTW, Vectors are great.  I have a few.  I read here that they are out or are soon going to be out of chrome-lined barrels and will be using U.S.-made barrels.  Not a big deal but I'd opt for a chrome-lined one if it's the same price.

We are one of Vector's largest distributors and have sold their AK line for about 6 years, they have had a solid & consistent quailty product , the few problems we that have cropped up were taken care of by their customer service, all new Vector rifles will not have the chrome lined bbl or bayonet lug, if you need these you would want to consider the Lancaster line.

All I have to compare the Vector to is my Saiga AK 103 conversion.  Both are great rifles, however, I have experienced FTF's with my Saiga.  Never had anything close to a "problem" with either of my two Vectors.  I love 'em.
