First AK, that I have ever had not run,lol. Drops extracted case into action or jams against dust cover. Extractor seems to have plenty of tension and bite. You can
Hand cycle it, no problem,only happens during live fire. tapco or E German magazines,doesn't seem to matter. Any ideas? Could the mags be sitting a little to high and the spend case being docked off the bolt, before it gets to the ejector? |
| First thing I would check is for proper ejector protrusion into your bolt. While holding the bolt and carrier over to the right side while the bolt passes over the ejector, does the ejector mostly fill up the slot in the bolt? This is what kicks the expended cartridge out of the rifle. A over-filed ejector or an out of spec (too wide) receiver can cause poor ejection. |

To test for this, chamber a cartridge, remove the magazine and fire the cartridge. Repeat several times. If the fired cases are ejected properly the malfunction may be magazine related. If not, the problem is something else. |
| Remember though when your pulling back on the charging handle your pulling your bolt to the right a little so also remove the gas tube and push it back with the piston and see if there is a difference and you might have to add some material on the ejector lug... |

The rifle seems to run 100% without a magazine inserted. I have 6 tapco and 1 DDR Bakelite and it seems to malfunction with them all. Some worse than others.
I don't have acess to another 5.45 AK to test the mags in. Does anyone have a 100% magazine that they would sell me or let me borrow? Any other ideas? Thanks |
