I just bought one from AIM and want to have the bbl threaded 1/2x28 for my new can. Being that I know nothing about AK's - can someone tell me what's involved in getting the barrel off and ready to be threaded? Do I need any special tools? Should I just send it out? |
| you dont need to take the barrel off to thread it. i used a barrel guide and did my WASR2 14x1 LH and added an AK74 brake. I rented all the stuff from someone on akforum. I THINK you should be able to thread it 1/2x28. 14mm is a little over 1/2" its like .55 inches |

It may no longer be possible to rent the threading kits. However, they can be purchased. Take a look at this thread: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=96089 |

the kit i rented was from someone on another board. actually, it was more like borrowed. i dont think he was a actively renting it out. i saw he had threaded his barrel and asked if i may rent the tools from him and he agreed. i returned it about a week or so ago. the thread guide keeps the threads straight. http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/3404/w2threadedtools1kn6.jpg www.akforum.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16442 |
