Might just need more rounds through it.
Clean it and shoot it some more.

So do they need a breaking in period? I have heard many things about Century I went and hand picked this one from a reputable dealer so the sights and gas block are okay. I guess I expect it to just operate better than this.

Did you clean all (or what you think is all) of the preservative out of the rifle before you shot it? If not try that first. Don't forget to disassemble the bolt and clean it.

How far did the cases which did eject go?
Was the rifle properly lubricated?
Is the gas port clear?
Is the piston dragging on the gas block?
Is the nose of the carrier dragging on the rear sight base?

If you cycle the rounds by hand they will 8-10 feet. When I took it back out it would fire and them slam home on  the empty case making it almost impossible to get the bolt open. I tried two different mags and it dis it with both of them. I used a brush on the chamber and cleaned it good before I went. Time to go see my gun dealer I guess
