| I need to fund a XCR 6.8 purchase. That means I have to sell one of my AKs. I have a very nice Krebs KTR-03S that has every bell and whistle on it. It is built on a stamped Saiga. I also have a very nice (more traditional) Milled Arsenal that I have lightly modified (ACE folder, Ultimak gas mount, couple of other minor mods). Both guns are nice, reliable, and in like new condition. I am not married to either one. Which one should I hold onto and why? What price should I ask for each one in the condition I described? I am leaning towards dumping the Krebs just because it looks so flashy, I know I can sell it quick. I got into both rifles at the right price. Thus, I won't lose money on either one. |
| Since you're asking, I'd dump the SAIGA. I've personally never been very fond of them for a myriad of reasons but that's just me. I'd vote to keep the milled since there are far more stamped receiver rifles out there in owners' hands and the commercial market. Eventually, everyone that has a bevy of various stamped receiver rifles starts getting interested in a milled rifle. |

Keep the Arsenal. Out of curiousity, what model is it? I have an SLR-95 I picked up in the Nineties, $470.00 or so new after shipping and such. I saw a used one in nice shape go for a little over a thousand on the EE last year if I remember right. Hadn't even been decked out with new furniture, still had the thumbhole stock. Mine is incredibly accurate, and others with milled Bulgarians usually report the same. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Keep the Milled Arsenal, nothing worng with your Krebs, but the Milled guns are just extra nice and hold their value well. Milled guns do hold their value, but if the rear tang was cut off to add that ACE folder it is not worth as much as it would be unaltered. |
