I'm new here, and looking to find out which muzzle break you all prefer for the SKS rifle...I've seen a few different ones (AKM, 74-style, Krinkov) and wonder which does the best job...

Thanks all

I have a break I got from Tennessee Guns a few years ago. It has six or eight holes(I'm not home where I could look) Drilled in the top half. It's screw on with a set screw. It was advertised as reduces muzzle rise 100%. That was B.S. But it does help.

I've got Tapco's grenade launcher replacement brake on one of my Yugos.  It was purchased primarily for 922 compliance and to preserve the original appearance, but it is in fact surprisingly effective.  I think they're $29; and removing a Yugo GL can be anywhere from a piece of cake to an exercise in defeat.

On my Chinese SKS, none. If I had to replace mine on the Yugo, I'd go with Tapcos to retain the look while still being effective.

I really like the yugo lookalike that tapco sells, but this will be going on a chinese SKS, so preferably something that would be a "put on and twist" or a set screw type...
Does anybody make a 74 type brake that's held on with a set screw?

You need to check out Richard Millers brakes threaded to fit the YUGO SKS.

Also here is the info on removing the old brake.

That twist on looks good.  I also found one here
