Im putting together a Romak3 kit and need to know which one of the AK builder rivet sets is closest to what I need for the PSL.  I know theres probaly a few straglers Im going to have to come up with, but I would like to get as close as possible.

My options are :

AK74 side folder

Unless I'm mistaken AKbuilders has the one rivet set (or am I thinking akparts.com?).  The real question is are you building from a flat or using a finished receiver which already has the center support already installed.  I used to get rivets from Copes and the only reason I have changed is because the ones I get from akparts.com have nearly enough to do 1 and 1/2 builds.

You could also buy the rivets in bulk (mentioned somewhere on this forum) for $5 for more rivets than you'll ever need.

Using an 80%  and need to add the center support.

The Romak3 has a special BHO center support, but after calling several suppliers and mfg's.  I have given up on finding one and Im just going to use the normal round center support.

1/4 steel tubing from aircraft spruce.  they sell some that has an I.D. of almost EXACTLY 5/32, like only .002 off.  You can drill that out easily on a drill press.

Just hacksaw off a piece, giving yourself an extra .050 to play with.  Chuck it up in a drill press and press it down into a file in a vise to make the ends nice and square.  Polish it by pressing it into sandpaper if you want.

Honestly, I'd just buy a 1lb package of round head long 5/32 rivets and a 1lb package of short 5/32 rivets.  The long rivets can double as your cross rivet or your rear trunion rivets.  Just flatten the head of the long rivet with the method described above.  Be sure to chuck the rivet all the way up into the DP, or else it WILL bend when you apply pressure.
