Not a pistol conversion AR. He thought .223 was small enough for the course, never mind the steel was about 30' from the line.... |

Well, we did have one injury at the plate tree (left side of the canopy) with one of the guys that I went down to Tusco with. I guess he got hit with a richochet from either my shooting or the guy next to me. That plate tree was pretty close - no more than a few yards out: www.gunboards.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=35081 It did break skin and he's got a hairline fracture on one of his ribs. I guess this means I'll have to come up with a purple heart award for him - or at least a flak jacket for the next shoot... |

engineer...was that charlie or the new kid (l.)? hope he heals up quickly. after tom got his finger busted last fall, i kinda have little desire to chance fate over on the pistol side. i need the practice...i just hate eating spalled jacket and lead. rs39...that wasn't that guy with the sbr ar15 i saw headed over that way, was it? oy! .223 on a pistol plate course?!?!?! what was he thinking? ober, did you make it down to the plateshoot? i didn't see you before i left. |

Campy, I didn't make it. I was within earshot though at Camp TuscoZoar Boyscout Camp Keeping those damn American away from the "Rhine". (We kicked their asses......again) I saw the pictures on the shot. That had to hurt like hell. I had one of my own Chi-com 7.62 steel core bullet come back at me and bounce of my knee last year. It didn't hurt, but scared the hell out of me. I would have been a little worried had I been injured like this. Hey, if we get to try out Shotars vest, I'm there next time! |
| Man I know that smarts.Years ago when I was into Cowboy action I was a RO and score keeper for our local group.I was watching a lady shoot a sweet old Colt SAA when something hit my clipboard and tore thru my thumb.I looked at my thumb and it was tore up pretty bad.Seems as if her Colt was out of time bad and was shaving alot of lead when fired.While I was dealing with my thumb they showed me the clipboard.The back was splattered with lead and one big peice had went thru.That the one that got me. |
