Does anyone have experience putting a wire folder on a mini D? Is it as "simple" as cutting the rivets from the existing trunnion and installing one with a tang?
(I am asking about the mechanical aspect, not the fact that I will need a stamp)

I've looked at the options recently myself and have decided to go with a VZ-58 folder. Same fuctionality and cheek weld as the other wires but very easy to install in comparison. With the mini the only possible issue in using other folders is that removable plastic buffer that sits just forward of the trunnion and slides down into the receiver. There may be no interference with it at all but it is something to consider. Other than that you could just remove the rivets, make the appropriate relief cuts in the reciever and install the new trunnion/stock of your choosing. There is the member who installed an underfolder on his mini so maybe he will chime in. For some reason topics of this nature concerning the mini don't bear much fruit. Guess not many have tried the install.

A quick look at my SAR-1 with wire folder next to my Mini shows that the rear trunnion rivets are in different places. At the very least you'd have to drill some new rivet holes, and you'd end up with some unused holes that you'd probably want to fill and refinish. Not impossible, but not a simple case of cut rivets, swap trunnions, re-rivet.

I'm the guy who did the underfolder on the mini. Since the mini used a virgin underfolder trunion the rivet holes where in the correct spot to just swap out and re-rivet. Adding the underfoldermdidmnot change how the buffer fits in. If you don't mind drilling a few holes and doing two rivets it's hard to beat how nice the underfolder fits, otherwise the vz58 stock would be a simple solution like the above post mentions. I actually used one of those on a MPA30 to make a compact SBR
