Out of all the Wolf 7.62x39 ammo available to us here in AR15.com which is the closet to military spec ammo. I want closet to the military spec stuff as I can get.

I like the Golden Tiger ammo it is very accurate & never had any problems with it.

At only 23.5 cents per you can't go wrong.

Wolf sources their ammo from several different manufacturers. While it is built to spec, that doesn't mean that Wolf Military Classic 124g FMJ from lot #XXX is the same as Wolf Military Classic 124g FMJ from lot #XYY, or even Wolf Polyformance 124g FMJ from the same factory as WMC lot #XXX.

If you want something closest to military ammo, go with the aforementioned Golden Tiger or actual military surplus like Yugo M67.

I'll +1 this, Yugo m67 is actual military surplus. Which is also corrosive.
It's hot, it's accurate, and it's brass cased/copper jacketed.
It's also drying up.

Best steel commercial ammo is Golden Tiger IMHO. Only brand that uses a boattail projectile. And it's lacquered with a good primer & neck seal.
After that anything out of the Barnaul factory (Brown/Silver Bear or Monarch).

Yugo M67 isn't particularly " hot". It's about as fast as equal weight TulAmmo.

Another vote for Golden Tiger. The new WOLF from Barnaul that SGammo is getting looks nice.

AND...Golden Tiger is made in Russia in Vympel, same factory that makes the actual ammo supplies to Russian forces, so I'd say that's as close as you can get to 'mil spec' before buying surplus.

Klimovsk ammo from Russia  has been the most accurate I have shot. Golden tiger being the exception. I had wolf military classic , golden tiger and klimovsk at the range. I shot each brand from from o pap .

Ammuniton Store  has Klimovsk in stock

I have tried various types of ammo over the years. Everything from Chicom surplus to Golden tiger. To be honest, i cant really tell a lot of difference as far accuracy is concerned. Wolf and Tula are a little dirtier than others, but thats about it. If you are wanting some to put back for a rainy day, Golden Tiger or some type with sealant and lacquered cases would be best. I recently ordered a case of the green box Wolf from Sg, but its mainly for storing.

Just got a case of this a couple of days ago.
Shoots like any other 7.62 x 39 out of my AK.
Same exact POI and group sizes.
