Has anyone heard anything about a price bump in the Wolf 124g 7.62 HP ammo? I walked in to my local place today to pick up a few boxes and they have increased the price from $5.99/box to $8.99/box! I almost had a heart attack! I mean, I thought they were already high @ $6/box but this seems ridiculous. They guy behind the counter said that they were supposed to have increased to price back in January but they just found out about it. Obviously the Golden Tiger @ Cope's is looking even better to me now. I'm just wondering if my local guys are guaging me. |

Oh trust me, I have that page bookmarked already! The only reason I used the local guys is simply convenience - they are on my way home from work. But screw that $9 a box B.S. I just bought a few boxes of Golden Tiger from Copes and will prolly look into that "ammo in a can" deal @ Classic Arms next payday. I thought AK's were addictive. But noooo, its the mags and ammo that are truly cthe money sink. I get this feeling when I get to the point I currently think is good I will prolly still "want just a few more". lol |
I would ask your local shop if they wanted to buy some from you for 6 dollars a box and then order some on line for 179/1000. That way, both of you make out.![]() I have no problem with some people making a buck but I hate it when small business seems to be ripping off people with their high prices and high mark-up. I for one get almost everything I need, including reloading supplies, on line. The local guys just can't compete, even with me paying for haz-mat for small quanties of primers/powder. I spoke with one of my local guys one time and he told me that when they order primers and powder, they pay haz-mat one time for a PALLET of primers/powder, so the cost should be cheaper to them, not to mention the cost savings of them buying in bulk. They also so much higher on primers, I can't afford to pay the extra money to go there, not to mention the gas to drive 40 minutes there in the first place. I live in the sticks. If their prices were more in line, I would shop there more often but I find my self saving my money and buying in quanity online much more now-a-days. Not to mention they have tried to screw me on a few firearms purschases. One was a pistol where I ended up ordering it from a different vendor for more then 100 dollars less then they wanted, even when I pointed out how much higher they were then the competition. The other time was when I bought an AK from an on line vender, I wanted them to do the FFL transfer and they refused saying that they wouldn't do that, even through they did it for me in the past, and wanted over 400 for the same gun when the on line vender wanted 230 IIRC. I went across town and another of their competitors did the FFL transfer for me for 30 bucks. This is when I really started to steer my business away from them. Ok rant off. |
