I purchased a "M" 1974 59/66 from Classic Arms several weeks ago and noticed that the receiver is a plum color whereas the receiver cover is solid black - is this normal?

I love it to death but the color mismatch looks a little odd. To be honest, I never really paid much attention to this when I first brought it home. Instead, I immediately took it completely apart, went outside and sprayed degreaser all over the receiver/barrel assembly, hosed it down, wiped off the cosmo then took CLP to it.

When I first noticed the color difference, I was a little paranoid that I may have somehow discolored the receiver with the degreaser when I cleaned the cosmo off.

ETA: I have thus far put 400 rounds of Golden Tiger through it without a single hiccup. Another problem though is that I cannot for the life of me get the bolt apart to get to the firing pin etc. I will keep trying because it will help me sleep better knowing it is properly cleaned out and dry. The firing pin does bang around in there freely so far, so I don't think there is much of any gunk in there right now.

Do the numbers match on the reciever and cover?

Yes, this is an entirely matching rifle in immaculate condition.
