I havnt got a VEPR yet but Id like to know I have some options with tacticool stuff. Id like to maybe have a railed handguard and I dislike the front sight. Are there any options for me? I looked back as fas as I could. Cant find what Im looking for. Sorry if this is a stupid question. Will this take normal AK furniture.

Where is the "Get that shit of my AK" picture when you need it?

To my knowledge, no railed handguards are avaliabe and normal AK furniture will not fit. The rifle is almost perfect as it is, why would you want to change it?

"I think" those were custom made buy the owner of that VEPR.

Most of us add a rail to the bottom of the handguards (its a standard weaver rail from Wal-Mart) and you can bolt a vertical grip and a light on it.

With the VEPR's we usually have to fabricate or adapt exisitng aftermarket parts.

I don't know if the veprs are any different in the handguard department, but I know surefire makes a quad rail for an AK forend

I forget his board name here, but the shop does all of their own work, so poke about the site and ask them $$.

His board name is brokenbank. He and his partner do incredible work.

The Ultimak rail will fit the Vepr.

The best front sight in my opinion is the XS 24/7 AK Sight. I use it in combination with a Kreb's Rear Peep Sight. Vast improvement over standard sights, plus the tritium front makes a huge difference in low light.

Ultimak makes a rail and ACE makes a gas block sight. I would go with Bigger Sticks combo on the sights though.

The rails that CDNN sells for AR15 will work fine the hole line up no drilling at all. I didn't add it to my verp k but could very easy. They cost 10 bucks with the grip.

Thank you! I have a very dumb question. I must warn you, it might be so dumb, I am ashamed to ask it. But are there any other selector switches for AKs. They are often loud plus I think they are a bit oversized.

There are others, but they are actually the same size or bigger. Some have a notch cut out so you can lock the bolt open manually, and some have an extension towards the bottom to allow easier manipulation.

And the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

I apreciate that. Im just kind of looking for one that looks better. I saw one from galils that was easier to switch but it still looked alot like the AK selector. I am all for functionality but I just hate that big selector on the AK.

I recall stories about the field expedient solution in Nam being a tire tube over the end to quiet it when it hits the 'on' position.
