who really like the amd-65? i always hatd them but they kinda grew on me,
i have 2 fixed stock romanian ak's 1 sar-1 and the other one a wasr-10 and im looking for another ak, and i dont want to spend $500 on another wasr. I want to use it a a trunk gun and just a plinker so i decided the amd would be nice lighter and some say its more accurate. would use my wasr for a truck gun but i refinished it and my sar is in good shape. i read that they sound diffrent then a regular ak to is the only diffrence between the amd-65 and amd-63 is the 63 has wood pistol grips and the 65 doesnt? also can you change to handguard and stock to a regular ak handguard stock? whats the going price on them? |

My AMD-65 is my favorite AK variant. The differences between the 65 and 63 are as follows:
AMD-65 has 12.6" barrel, muzzle brake, shortened gas piston, shortened gas tube, wire side folding stock. The gas block and front sight block are so close they almost touch. AMD-63 (aka AKM-63) has 16" barrel, muzzle nut, standard gas piston, standard gas tube, fixed stock. Basically a standard AK except for the front handguard. The wood versus poly grips is a matter of age. Wood came first and were replaced by the poly. |
