i know I asked before but got no real answers does anyone make the 7.62x39 ammo that has a big flash like Federal XM193 I want to get some pics of the flash like I did with my AR plus I just love that big flame freaks the hunters out at the range |
| I've only shot Barnaul (Silver Bear) and Ulyanovsk through my SAR-1, but I can say that the Barnaul stuff tosses out a decent fireball visible from the shooter's POV. The Uly didn't produce anything visible even when shooting from a covered, low-light firing position during the day. |
If you can get your hands on some Yugo 7.62 brass, There's a good chance thats its a hot load. The Yugoslavians are known to hot load their 7.62 ammo. I have about 2000 rounds of brass from Yugoslavia, and i've noticed a brighter flash when using them over steel casings from Russia. |
Here's a pic of regular, laquered case Barnaul. This is Silver Bear. It is produced at several Russian cartridge works: Barnaul, Ulyanovsk, and Novobirsk. It should be marked both on individual boxes and cases which manufacturer it came from. |
