today at work I was talking to a guy from Cuba about ak-47's. he told me that the russians made the best barrels.
he said when you shoot over 300 rds real fast the barrel on the russian ak won't bend like the other countrys meaning yugo, romy, chinese or from any other country. says the russian barrel is not made the same as the others. is this just B.S. or is there some truth to his story. I don't own a russian, but my ak's barrels haven't bent yet. |

IIRC, euro com bloc military barrels are all the same quality of steel,are hammer forged, and chrome lined except yugos.They are going to best the best,IMO.obviously a chrome lined barrel is going wear better under heavy use.
as for chinese barrels, they hold up well also. I dont know if they are the same quality of steel or not, never seen any data on them. what he said,is some what true.....obviously a russian barrel is going to be as good as it gets, but theres others as good. |
