when i bought my yugo M70AB2 the front sight was canted to the left.  it wasn't a lot, but still enough to mess up shooting because it looked weird when looking down the sights.  i asked the store where i bought it if they would fix it.  they said they can't and won't.  it wasn't their problem and that you couldn't fix them (even though many websites explained how to do it.)

anyone else run into this problem?  i heard it was pretty common among imported ak's, especially yugos.

anways, that was ok with me, i took it to my father's place and heated the sight block with a torch making damn sure i didn't get the barrell hot.  i used small amounts of heat a little at a time until i got it hot enough to move the sight.  after i was done, i checked the barrell and it didn't twist or warp or anything.  i fixed it.  it shoots pretty good now.  the only thing that it did damage was the blueing on the one side of the sight block.

anyone else fix their canted sight blocks like this?  im just seeing how many people also ran into this problem with their yugos.

yes i know this was risky, i was just lucky i didn't screw up the barrell, sight or gun.

I fixed the canted sights on my AB2, too.

I bought it with from someone who said it didn't have canted sights, and from the inspection I couldn't really tell but I guess I can't see straight.
After maxing out the front sight adjustment the thing shot about a foot to the bottom right of my aiming point.

I researched a little bit, decided I didn't want to take it to a gunsmith, and fixed it myself.
I took all the wood and unneccessary parts off the rifle I could and stuck it in the freezer with a plastic bag over the front sight soaking in WD-40. (best penetrant I had at the time).

After a few hours it was finger sticking cold, put it out on the vice with some wood and I've never thought I'd hit a gun that hard with a hammer. Hit it back and forth until finally heard that nice SNAP and from there a crecent wrench was used to move it back and forth.

Ended up rebluing the front sight (again myself, and oddly enough with my own bluing mixture I found out on accident while mixing chemicals together.)
(Bluing mixture is 1 cup vinegar, to 2 tablespoons Sodium Metabisulfite, and a marble sized bunch of steel wool, heated to a rolling boil. Wait until Steel Wool is DISSOLVED. Research Parkerizing and use the same steps for the most part, I used Ballistol for an oil. Use at own risk.)

So far the bluing looks exactly like the rest of the rifle and hasnt done anything bad that I can tell.

But, after shooting a magazine through it, at 50 yards off hand, with the front sight post centered, I have an even spread around bullseye in a 6" circle.

My Yugo underfolder shot 18" right @ fifty yards.  Rather than fool with it myself, I shipped it back to Century at a cost to me of $14.  They got it back to me in a couple of weeks.  The gun shot to point-of aim right out of the box, and the sight post was in the center of the adjustment range.  It was worth the $14. and the short wait.

Century should build the things right the first time (and test-fire them, verifying that they shoot to point-of-aim).  But, I give them credit for the good service.

Mine was canted badly also.  I took it to a local gunbuilder and he put a level on it and hopefully straightened it out for me.

I just have not had time to get to the range yet.  Besides, my sight tool just came in yesterday

as of 6/7 I went to the range.  Still have the front pin way to the right, but at least I can hit a bullseye with it.Just can't elevate the front sight, so back to the gunsmith I go.

So now the Yugo is at the gunsmith.  It had canted front and rear sights.  Sucks to be me, huh?

One of my M70B1s has a slight cant in the FSB.  I had an extra windage adjustable RPK rear sight sitting around, so I took the easy way out and slapped that on there.

mine is off just enough to make the front site not center so I put on a Mojo peep site.  front post stays center and rear is off maybe 1/32 of an inch.
