I cahnged mags and gave up and took it to the shop
a very good and trustworthy gunsmith who I have worked with numerous times told me he had nbo idea what was wrong with it so I had my dealer send it in the replacement worked great so if its a century send it back!!!!!

Does the bolt carrier move freely when you charge it? or does it seem to slide real tight as you are pulling the  bolt carrier back?

If it does,  take some lapping compound and put some on the inside rails, you should be able to see where the bolt carrier is rubbing.   Work the bolt carrier by hand for a few minutes and this should loosen it up

take it apart clean it. measure rails. proceed accordingly.
if rails measure to the carrier, read that , carrier moves freely, then check cover for binding.
what kinda of trigger group do you have??
check bottom of carrier for friction marks.
my Yugo is need a forward assist that you find on an AR. it will not close all the time, some times it needs to be persuaded manually. it seems to working better as i keep shootin

I'm having the same problem, and I belive I have the three reason why:

1st:  The carrier does rub on the top of the hammer (though that is working itself out as it wears in)
2nd:  I used a micrometer to check the size of the original yugo gas piston vs the century one I put, on after noticing that I was getting gas blow back all the way up the top of the carrier
3rd:  After spraying gun cleaner into the gas hole, I saw it run out from between the barrel and the gas block!

I know that these are overcomable problems with the gas system, because though mine will not cycle with wolf ammo, it does great with old chinese stuff (which seems to be hotter).  I loaded a 20 round mag with the chinese stuff, and all of the chambered, fired, ect, without a hitch!

The bolt carrier was likely hanging up on the hammer.  Ive had that problem with a few aks that I installed G2 trigger groups in.  None of mine were bad enough to affect function.

I actually filed the top of my G2 hammer  where it contacts the bolt.  It was hanging on the return trip just when hand-cycling the action.

Just curious...did you replace the Yugo grip with a std AK grip, or is that the way Century shipped it originally?

Glad to hear it's all worked out.  I have yet to fire my Century underfolder...gotta get 'er done!

Glad to here your rifle is fixed and that Century stands behind what they sell. I have a Yugo too. I’ve only shot around 300 rounds so far but not had any problems. These sure are fun.
