Purely from a mechanical standpoint, does trigger slap effect accuracy?
It think it would, with another thing banging around during the firing cycle.
Has anyone fixed an AK with trigger slap and found an improvement in accuracy?

Trigger slap does not occur until after the bullet has left the barrel so it has no effect on accuracy, except through the negative effect it has on the shooter.

From the mechanical standpoint it should not effect accuracy.
But if some one stomped on your toe every time you pulled the trigger it would get real hard to not flinch every time you pull the trigger. That is how it effects accuracy.

Both people had excellent explanations.

Trigger slap is easy to fix if you're somewhat mechanically inclined.  Take the trigger parts and look at the back of the disconnector.  You'll see where the back tab of the disconnector is hitting the top of the trigger.  Take a file or a grinder and relieve the contact points (note this is NOT any of the sear surface).  Continue until you can install the entire FCG and pull back on the disconnector and not have it touch the trigger.  A good check I have done is to pull the trigger and hold it back while cycling the bolt to see if any trigger slap exists.

Good answers here.

I will make a suggestion.

I did the tail grinding thing and it worked to a point, but there was still a little bit of slap that was noticeable in cold temps especially.

Long story short;  I bought a K-Var trigger group and then removed the rear trigger guard rivet and replaced it with a machine screw with the nut supporting the tail of the disconnector.

Result;  NO trigger slap.
