HEY GUY'S AND GAL'S. i am an absolute ignorant rookie when it comes to the mighty AK. i've recently aquired a rather persistant and desperate need to own one of these hard on indusing,awe enspireing, gnarly ass firearm's. the problem i have is, there are so many variant's that i couldn't tell a turd from a tit when it comes to these things. my question is, what constitutes a good AK? and wich ones to shy away from. or are they all kick ass? help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think your question, or versions of it, can be found by simply looking back at recent posts and not very far back at all. This question seems to be asked about once every day or two. Not trying to be a smartass to you or anything but it's kind of a loaded question and there's a great deal of opinions you can get by looking through past posts on the subject. There will be a lot of them as the question invokes a lot of discussion and you can get a great idea of what you're looking for by looking at all the varied answers people have given. This might be more helpful to you.

First of all, you need to give us a ballpark on your budget, what caliber you're interested in, fixed stocks, folding/wire, style configuration..............you get the idea.
