is this possible? i just received my receiver flat with predrilled holes and now i have decided to go the underfolder route.  Can i still use my new receiver or do i need to order one with out the hole drilled?

It's possible, but you gotta do a lot of drilling and measuring...

The rear rivet holes for a fixed stock receiver with pre-drilled holes will not line up with the rivet holes for a UF.

I think so.

no, you cannot! two different receivers, sorry, or start drilling.  lol

Anything is possible. You would have to weld the holes for the stock block rivets and then drill the holes for the rivets and UF pivot.
It's much easier to buy the correct flat.

yeah ya can weld up the original holes and make new ones for the UF.don't worry about hardening the receiver, just the FCG holes and ejector are all that is needed for heat treat.back the holes then plug it up with a weld.grind it flush.mark out your new holes and cut the slot and large holes for the UF.It's actually a piece of cake.a drill.dremel and a couple bits are all ya need..

It seems like too much jagging around and it'll probably look like crap when you're done.  Buy an underfolder flat from akbuilder for $35.

took me about an hour.this was a rifle that was fully functional prior to me stripping it down and putting the UF hardware in.

here is what this one came out to be.from a regular stocked receiver to an underfolder

Yeah was going to say of course it's possible.  I built my polish underfolder from a standard fixed stock flat.

I did it but it was a LOT of work and tinkering. Had I to do it again I would buy a receiver already cut for the underfolder.
