| I have a Romanian AK with a slant muzzle break on it right now. im just not a big fan of it and was looking to change it out with something else. I was looking for some opinions on other good choices to switch to. Thanks |

Well, there's always the cheap AK-74 style brake; just make sure you get one that's made for the 7.62x39 rifles (I assume that's what you have?) like this one:
http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Threaded_AK-74_style_AK_Muzzle_Brake.html A couple of thoughts: 1) Are you all about functionality, or do you just want something that looks cooler? If the answer is "cooler," then the something like the above is probably what you need. (That's what I put on my WASR, for what it's worth.) 2) I assume that your slant brake is a U.S.-made part, so you need the new brake to be U.S.-made also to maintain your 922(r) compliance. |
| I am in no way affiliated with this sale, but this guy has Flash Hiders for sale. You won't even need to change your FSB or anything. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=123&t=699621 |

Chinese Type-84s style muzzle brakes have always caught my eye the one i've got installed fits like a glove. http://dpharms.com/ak47-84s-style-muzzle-brake-p-286.html?osCsid=9b3165431c2f0c33acdb95e527b16c2e

I too have a Phantom flash hider as well as an AK-74 muzzle brake, but I have since learned that the 84 type is one of the only ones besides a slant brake, that will accommodate a bayonet. Something you may want to consider. Excellent point. Off to check... |
