I've searched and tried to come up with as much info on this rifle as I can, but cant seem to narrow it down to exactly what it is so I turn to the experts here good friend of mine is selling it and has offered it to me fairly cheap. if I pass, I told him I'd help try to sell it, but really have no idea about it and/or its 'value'. I'm kinda interested, but not at the risk of screwing over a friend when my wallets a bit thin these days. any help yall could offer would be greatly appreciated. I know its a Nornico NHM91 with a kinda cheapo scope, but that's about it.  here is a kicker I havent seen. a little metal bar holding down/stabilizing the dust cover. seemed to show up best in 'negative'

Well, I cant tell what kind of muzzle device it has from the pic. Is the barrel threaded or is the flash hider pinned on? It has those ATI Fiberforce stock and grips on there. Nothing wrong with them, some people think they look bad is the only real complaint. Being post 89 import, to add a standard RPK stock set to it, it will require the US compliance parts. The Top cover is not macthing, I would assume it has the tab on the rear to help keep the scope zeroed. Those parts dont really add to it's value in most opinions. I'd say the value is in the $400-550 depending on what is included with the rifle. What is he asking? Hope this helps. |

thanks for the help so far! here's a (kinda bad) pic of the muzzle. only one on hand right now and again made it negative so it would show up better. I dont know if its screwed on or pinned. I'll find out this evening.  regarding price I can get it for, that's up in the air. he and I have bought/sold guns to each other in the past and basically we try to determine what's fair, then knock a little off that. so say if the consensus is that its worth $400 (as a number) then I could prolly get it for $300 to $350ish. now, forgive me as I'm somewhat new to the world of AKs, but if that gun was imported as is, wouldnt all the compliance parts be there and it would be 'legal'? I've recently done a build so I understand the concept, but dont get how a 'already built gun' wouldnt be compliant already. |
| It was brought in as a thumbhole stock version. My MAK-90 was the same way. The thumbhole stock that came on it was not southpaw compatible, so I changed it out for an ATI stock. If you change the stock set from thumbhole to a pistol grip and standard stock you have to add US made parts to be compliant with the 10 or less rule. My MAK-90 does not have a threaded barrel or bayonet mount. I only need five US made parts to comply because of the barrel. I installed a custom made US stock set last night, curly maple. Those four pieces count as three US parts. I also put in a Tapco double hook trigger group. That brings my US parts count up to six. You could do the same, unless you like the ATI stock. If you leave it as is, you should not need to add any US parts. HTH |
In its current configuration - I would be pressed to offer $325. I might go $425-450 if all of the original parts (Top Cover, HG's, and Buttstock) were included or put back on. I would lose the flash hider (if it is pinned), the stock, and the scope/cover combo. To me these add no value, but DO take away from the value if the original parts are no longer available. ETA: The scope is not worthless. Value of $50-75 would be considered. DK |

more info: the flash hider is a screw on, but for some reason (unknown to me at this time) the pin at the base of the front sight that holds the FH was ground down/off.  agreed....the scope is worth very little, but it is added parts. some might think its worth something. thanks for all the help yall....I really appreciate it. |
