One option is a side rail and scope mount.

Another option is handguards with built in rails. There are many options, including quad rails, but the Ultimak is a good choice if all you want is an optic mount.

Another option is a dust cover with a built in picatinny rail.

I'm afraid the Yugo underfolder is about the least optics friendly AK out there.

Your only option is this.

I'm not sure thats your only option.

Shoot off an email to tantal.

I think a screw on ak side rail, with an additional spacer, will work.

You need an extra plate to move the side rail out from the receiver, so that the optic can clear the underfolder hinge.

I asked him regarding my M95A Underfolder and got that reply.  He also said he was working on a mount with the extra spacer built in.

Oh, and just buy a PK-AS Pitbull if you want a red dot and you go with the side rail mount.  They are sweet.

If you are looking for magnification,  a 4x PSO with AK style mount to kick it forward a couple of inches.  These are realy pretty cheap and are super wicked looking with the lit red Drag reticule.

Also I do highly recommend Tantal.  Its a bit of a pain that you need to email for current prices and availability instead of it being online.  But you can get real military stuff at good prices.

This is the worst option for an AK.  Your POI will shift with every shot.  It's impossible for that type of mount to hold zero.

Good point on the dust cover rail option. It would be fine for a red dot within maybe 25-50 yards, but way too flimsy to compliment a scope. No consistant shot placement.

He can't use a side rail because he has an underfolder.
