What is the best way to mount a red dot sight on the forward half of my SKS?

SKS Handguard with Picatinny Rail

Scout SKS Sight Base

Are either of these workable or are there other options?

Thanks

Take it for someone with 25 years of experience and trial and error with the SKS platform....the scout mount is the superior way to go mounting a reflex/red dot sight on the SKS. The handguard rail mounts will always move and you lose zero. Same for the recieve type mounts, a waste of money.

Scout Mount is a well made and high quality unit.

This does look great.  Do the screws at the back mark up the reciever where they hold the mount down?

I've been running receiver mounted cheap-ass Norinco x4 scopes on two Yugo's for years, and never ever had an issue with losing the zero.

YMMV of course, but I believe these get a bad rap.

Ran across this mount yesterday looks kind of interesting and price is not bad either.
