I have a need for two 1/8 rivets. i used pop rivets but they aren't working out like i'd like. i'm thinking i'm going to have to use the shortest (trigger guard) available, as it's going on my magazine catch. any ideas?

Do you need to rivet your mag catch lever into place?

Last I spoke with him, Curtis at AKbuilder.com is having the original style rivet-pins made up. You might want to drop him a line and see if there's any progress.

And if you know a machinist, it's actually a fairly simple part to make.. pin with counter-bore on each end (and possibly a stepped diameter?). Make it of mild steel. Set the ends with a ballpein hammer head as a flaring punch, struck with a larger hammer - just as one example.

hey bud i just had an idea. why dont you just weld up those holes? take it to a welding shop and have them tig the holes closed. then touch up the paint. much easier than replacing the catch or the whole trigger guard. sould cost but a few bucks.
