| I got a Romanian SF stock off the EE and it is missing the 2 attachment screws. What is the thread size for these so I can try to get them from the hardware store? |

I don't know if Romanian screws are the same as Chinese ones. But the ones I have are 4 threads per cm, with a .6 cm major diameter and approx. .3 minor diameter (I don't have the right tool to measure the minor diameter, so it's a bit of a guess) So my guess is that the pitch diameter is .45 cm or something similar to that. The screw has a 3.1 cm overall length. The first 2.3 cm are threaded. The head is slightly rounded, and is countersunk at a fairly shallow angle, and has a slot for flat head screwdrivers about .1 cm wide. The head is .9 cm in diameter.
Anyway. You may be better off filling it in with dowel and glue and re-drilling a new hole. |

So in other words, you don't know the answer either. OP, the front screw (inside the receiver) is a 5mm x 10mm and the rear screw is a 5mm x 8mm. Use pan-head machine screws and they'll fit perfectly. You can get them at Lowe's/Home Depot. |
| I use the pan wood screws in black from the hardware Dept at Lowes and they are in the gate section off that dept... I also don't understand why all the comments from or for the Weapons Guild.. I go there a lot but don't see it better than this place... Ohhh well Good luck and good shooting....... |

Disruptive childish behavior ("I know the answer but I won't give it to you....unless you ask me at Weaponswhatever.com") is not tolerated in technical forums, so enjoy whatever site you like and leave this one alone

Geez! As you could find by using the search function (there are literally dozens of threads where this is asked and answered) it is M5x.8, v neck, lens head, slotted.
And no, you won't find them anywhere. You can however, find phillips, v neck, flat head allen, v neck, flat head slotted, v neck, flat head phillips, no neck, dome head phillips, no neck, cheese head etc. I've found the ones at Home Depot to be of inferior material (cast?) that tends to shear under any torque. Didn't find them at my local Lowes The ones at ACE hardware are better. At least they don't strip like the HD ones The best I've found were green plated at True Value. Maybe that's a common metric ground screw - only reason I can think of for it to be green. The length on the front one isn't very important. The rear one must be flush with the underside of the hinge or the stock won't clear it. Original ones have a hole drilled in the end so that they can be flared, which keeps them from backing out (as all screws will). |
